About Me

I'm Uttiya

Experimental Particle Physicist and Software Developer

I'm a a particle physicst working as a Post-doctoral Researcher at RWTH, Aachen. I work for the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) Experiment at CERN for the last 7 years. Previously I worked as a CNRS fellow at École Polytechnique, Palaiseau and as a guest researcher at Fermilab, Batavia. I did my PhD from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. I work on CMS data analysis, computing and software development. I am also involved in detector performance and commissioning activities.

I enjoy making films, composing and playing music, or bouldering in my free time.

Presentation during a webinar on Future trends and career in Physics, organised by Darjeeling Govt. College, West Bengal. Targeted for college/university level students to provide some ground rules and motivation of working in a large scale experiment.
